Upcoming Trip

I'm starting to get all excited about our train trip next week. My friend Susan and I are taking "The City of New Orleans" to Chicago and then on to Wisconsin to visit my sister and brother-in-law. We'll have several days of Frank Lloyd Wright admiration, starting off with the Johnson Wax Headquarters Building in Racine, followed by an all-day visit to Taliesen. We may get in some sailing, maybe not. Depends on the state of the sailboat. It got damaged by a hurricane last summer in Florida, and although it's supposed to be repaired Sis said it still had some problems when they took it out this past week.

After six days in Wisconsin, we'll head back down to Chicago for three art-filled days to do some gallery visiting, the Art Institute, etc.

I really hate to complain about the heat (it was 100 F today) when it's hitting 115 in Arizona. At least I have air conditioning, even if the poor thing never gets to rest. I swear it ran all day long today.

After much thought, I've decided to be optimistic about JM's being on Smallville next season. Even though it's not what I wished for him, it is a paycheck, and maybe it'll be a good, challenging role that he'll find meaty and enjoyable. I'll watch him in anything, of course, as my tape of "The Mountain" proves.
